Operations Manager

Located: Te Awamutu

About the role:

This is a pivotal leadership role, which will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the VetEnt clinical business. The successful applicant for this role will provide strategic input and management across the variety of divergent functions and business activities.  

Working to the strategic and financial objectives as set by the CEO, the role will seek to achieve optimum profitability by providing the direction, leadership and guidance to the business unit managers and staff with a drive to deliver operational excellence.  

The Operations Manager will have primary accountability for the provision of operational management support and assistance to the regional management team and business unit managers. You will lead the delivery of the monthly business and financial performance and will manage the budgeting and forecasting processes.

This is a senior management role and that requires the skills to be able to influence, challenge and provide high quality, valued management advice to the business units. Ideally, you will have experience working for a large corporate business at a senior management level with the demonstrated experience and ability to lead and drive a performance culture.

You must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree (BVSc or a recognised equivalent) and a level of skill commensurate with a minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience with significant strategy and business development.

Companion Animal Veterinarian

Located: Te Awamutu

This is a fixed term position based at our Te Awamutu clinic for approximately 12 months while an employee is on leave.  Supported by a great team of vet nurses, you will be the primary companion animal veterinarian in the clinic. You will be an excellent team player who is highly motivated in providing outstanding service to our clients.  The successful applicant will work between 24 hours to 40 hours per week.

Veterinary Commercial Sales Advisor

Located: Te Kuiti

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Sales Advisor to join our team, based out of our Te Kuiti clinic. This is a fulltime role that will provide services for primarily sheep and beef farm clients as well as some dairy and deer clients in the Northern King Country region.

Reporting to the Hub Operations Leader, this role complements our delivery of veterinary services by providing ethical product stewardship for commercial animal health remedies and provides strong technical product knowledge for farmers. You will have the ability to build trust and maintain strong client relationships as well as being able to meet sales targets.

The role would require knowledge and experience in the animal health and farming sector and someone who is a strong team player.  Based in Te Kuiti, the role involves an in-clinic presence as well as farm visits. Ongoing CPD is provided to all of our staff to remain up to date with products and animal health developments.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in the rural industry with an ability to relate to farmers
  • Drive to help farmers and their business succeed
  • The ability to explain the features/benefits of technical products
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of animal nutrition, animal health and pasture management would be an advantage for this role.

We are seeking qualified and experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our companion animal team in our well equipped, modern purpose built clinic. This is a full time position including rostered Saturdays.

Our ideal candidate will also possess the following attributes and skills:

This is a fixed term position based mainly at our Leeston clinic for approximately 8 months while an employee is on leave with the potential to turn into a permanent role in the future to work at our Lincoln and Leeston Clinics.   The successful applicant will work 20 to 30 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours.  We require a flexible Veterinarian who can work at our Lincoln clinic, if required.

Administration Support / Vet Nurse

Located: Leeston

About the role:

We are looking for a friendly, organised and experienced Administration Support/Vet Nurse person for VetEnt Leeston on a part-time basis.  The successful applicant will work on Saturday morning for 3 hours each week and have the flexibility to cover leave at our Lincoln and Leeston Clinics. 

This role will involve:

  • Providing welcoming and friendly customer service
  • Assisting customers with retail/product queries
  • Accurately logging sales into our computer system and charging the customer using the preferred payment system, i.e. eftpos, credit card or cash
  • Maintaining a clean and organised retail area
  • Providing administrative support for our Vets and Vet Nurse
  • Managing the appointment diary
  • Assisting with stock takes
  • Unpacking and reconciling stock

To be successful in your application we require someone with great relationship skills, time management, attention to detail and reliability.  You will also need to be keen, enthusiastic and willing to get involved. Experience in a retail environment and knowledge of animal health products would be an advantage, as would a veterinary nursing qualification.
