Rich joined the team at Vetent Aspiring in 2015, moving to Wanaka from the Hawkes Bay after 10 years in sheep, beef, horse and working dog practice. He is thoroughly enjoying adapting this experience to the South Island high country, and adding deer work into the mix.
Outside of work you will find him and his family (wife Belinda and sons Tom and Jack) lapping up the Central Otago lifestyle, with multisporting, mountain biking, rugby, swimming, and hunting taking up every spare moment. There is great excitement building in the household at the moment over the upcoming ski and snowboarding season!

Rob is a Massey University Graduate (1983) who after graduation enjoyed his first few years as a vet based in picturesque Wanaka, where he developed an affinity for the high country and deer farming. To further his experience Rob then worked as a veterinary locum throughout the UK in many varied and interesting jobs dealing with the range of animals the UK experience brings including monkeys and snakes. The lure of NZ brought him home and Rob has been based in Ashburton since the late 1980’s predominantly working with production animals (sheep/deer/beef) and no snakes. He is actively involved in the Deer Industry as an auditor for the NVSB as well as acting as a TB tester trainer/assessor for the NQVS. Outside of work Rob lives on a lifestyle property in Tai Tapu with his wife Sarita and two girls. Having no musical ability, and being too old to play rugby Rob enjoys the family time and shares a passion for travel with his wife.

The icon of the Darfield Vet Centre, Roy has been working at the Vets for 24 years dating back to the days of the Malvern Vet Club. As such, Roy is a well-respected and distinguished member of our team who is known by most of our clients and cherished by his colleagues. He is often regaling us with his huge array of limericks and ditty’s that he has stored away over the years! As our Sales Manager Roy has seen the system go from a basic paper filing system to a fully integrated computer system complete with hand held scanner for ordering and stock taking purposes. Roy will happily recommend the best product for your pet or livestock and can easily order specific products in for you with the simple press of a button! When Roy’s not sitting at the front desk hassling Rachel for her choice of music he loves to spend time in his garden or with his family. With seven grandchildren he and his wife, Heather, are kept very busy watching them all play sport in the weekends.
