VetEnt King Country services approximately 300 sheep and beef farms as well as 18 dairy farms and with 4 more conversions under way. In addition to the practice in Taumarunui, it also has ownership in a practice in Turangi.

We have 5 large animal vets with years of experience ranging from 2 - 30 years. The vets in King Country share the role of the companion animal vet and conduct daily consultative and surgical services to all companion animal clients with the support of our vet nurse, Lesley Topp.

Services and areas of expertise include:

  • Reproduction (female) - best farm practice (education for farm workers), pregnancy testing, reproduction analysis, problem solving.
  • Reproduction (male) - bull and ram testing.
  • Anthelmintic resistance monitoring - FEC testing, analysis, product recommendation, product supply.
  • Lameness - best farm practice (education for farm workers), treatment, problem solving, product recommendation and supply.
  • BVD management programme.
  • Farm Dogs - vaccinating, health checks, orthopedic surgery, nutritional advice, product supply.
  • Companion animal - health checks, treatment, sterilisation procedures, surgery
  • A large range of both large animal commercial products and pet products displayed in our large showroom area.
  • An on-site lab facility which allows the practice to perform FEC's, spore counts and blood test.

We also have a team of people in various roles which are aimed at supporting the day-to-day activities of our vets, including Andrew Cadle who is the Technician for the area, Mike Waghorn, our Trading manager and Sue Gilmore and Vanake Domper are our Support Staff responsible for managing the appointment schedule for the large animal veterinarians, ordering stock, processing inwards goods, processing the veterinarian dockets from on farm calls and daily admin duties such as banking and serving customers.
