Large Animal Technicians

Located: Te Awamutu & Otorohanga 

We are currently seeking large animal technicians to join our veterinary teams based in our VetEnt clinics located in Te Awamutu and Otorohanga.

* Full time permanent position based in Otorohanga clinic – 8am- to 5pm Monday to Friday plus rostered Saturday mornings.

* Part time permanent position based in Te Awamutu clinic – 8am to 5pm three days a week (days to be determined).

The ideal candidates will be able to relate with farmers, work well as part of a team and also be happy to work on their own at times. Good organisational skills, flexibility and attention to detail are important requirements for this role. You must have stock handling experience and an understanding of the breeds and ages of sheep and cattle. Our ideal candidate will be willing and able to perform a variety of technical duties including but not limited to blood testing, vaccinations, teatsealing, metrichecking, and lab work. Ongoing training will be part of the role. Experience operating and working on sheep conveyor and handling systems would be beneficial but is not essential.

You will be physically fit and need to be assertive while remaining calm under pressure. In order to gain certain accreditations, a clean police record is essential.
